What is Strengths-Based Learning?

Who is Gallup?

Gallup is a global analytics and advice firm that works to help leaders solve their most pressing problems. Gallup’s research on Strengths-Based Learning spans decades, focusing on developing talent, mission-driven work, strong managers, and personal growth.

What does a “Strengths-Based Approach” to learning mean?

Traditionally psychology was focused more ‘fixing’ an individual’s deficits—concentrating on how to identify and correct perceived weaknesses. Don Clifton, the founder of Strengths-Based Learning, believed that Strengths science answers questions about what's right with people rather than what's wrong with them. Strengths focuses on learning more about our natural gifts and talents, investing time and energy in actively practicing the ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving that make us unique.
