Try something new
ExperienceVT

College is a time to experiment, to grow, and to learn. Trying new things is the best way to learn about yourself and your passions. From the moment you step foot on campus, there is a world of possibilities and activities to engage in.
Events
Student events happen nearly every single day and range from large scale signature events like Gobblerfest and International Street Fair, to low key events hosted by student organizations—like the weekly chocolate milk Monday gatherings at D2.
GobblerConnect and the Corq app are the best places to learn about events on campus.
Leadership
There are many different paths for Hokies who want to grow their leadership skills, help others, and make an impact.
You can:
- Become a president or director of a University Chartered Student Organization like The Virginia Tech Union or Black Student Alliance.
- Support international students as a Global Ambassador.
- Or become a student representative for the Board of Visitors.
Members of the Undergraduate Student Senate help elevate the student voice to create lasting change on campus. Engaging in leadership opportunities through ExperienceVT not only helps you grow as an individual, but also allows you to give back and support others.
Employment
Working on campus is more than just a job. It can be an experience tailored to your unique needs as a Hokie. As a student employee, you'll learn practical, transferable workplace skills while engaging in work that supports fellow students and the university.
Give Back
Virginia Tech's motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), is grounded in service learning and civic engagement. VT Engage is central to those opportunities. You can travel overseas on a global service immersion trip or stay local and volunteer at The Big Event. No matter how you get involved, know you are making a difference.
